Sketchin.....well sort of...

Here is a 30 minute sketch I did of my favorite comic character Norrin Radd (Silver Surfer to most of you)!!  Did this using my Wacom Tablet which is currently not working (grumble grumble) a few months ago!! As far as the Wacom Tablet not working, it looks like I may have to pony up some hard earned $$ and get a new one.....

Smiling Faces

...this started as a caricature loosely based on myself (see the shiny spot on the nose, and big-ass smile....see it?? I knew you would!) while listening to Gnarls Barkley's song "Smiley Faces" a few years ago....just added some color to it in a 25 minute timed session

Sketchy Character(s)

...been using my Wacom Tablet lately to create some characters, while getting used to drawing with NO pen or pencil (its kind of strange), but since everything is one click away, its become quite addictive!!  Those that follow my Deviant Art page will see a few *ahem* racier pictures that won't get posted here......well at least for now....in the meantime, here are two creations I laid down this week, while listening to a heap-load of hip-hop.....

Listening to Gorillaz new album "Plastic Beach", I decided to give a serious attempt to coloring an old sketch I did about 2 years ago while I was a Senior Project Admin (fancy way to say data entry clerk).  Anyway, here it goes.....

Digital Art & Creation

This is something I've been struggling with for a while.  Creating art using digital mediums (photoshop, illustrator, corel painter, etc).  The whole purpose of getting this big fancy MacBook Pro two years ago was for me to dive in head first into the world of graphic art & design.  While I have learned more in the apparent limitless world of Adobe, my biggest limitation is the current version of Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator I'm using, CS....that's it!!  No CSI, CS II, yep just plain old CS.  Not to mention the version of Illustrator is a basic trial version that includes no bells or whistles.  Perhaps Santa will bless me with a new version for Christmas this year??  Hmmmmmm.....

Just got my hands on an advance copy of this album (snippets).  With guest appearances by Nicole Wray, Billy Danze (1 half of M.O.P.), RZA and Ludacris, The Black Crowes laid down some bluesy/funky/soulfulness that dares you NOT to nod your head!!  Add a splash of hip-hop and some nice R&B hooks, this compilation will subtly ooze cool from your speakerbox!

Raheem DeVaughn "Bulletproof"

Raheem DeVaughn is an artist that I feel is overlooked.  In his new video, he channels a lil Marvin Gaye (think "Trouble Man", "Inner City Blues) and a lil Curtis Mayfield!  Featuring a nice verse from Ludacris; I think one of his better verses in a LOOOOONG time....but here's the vid....check it out!!!
