Digital Art & Creation

This is something I've been struggling with for a while.  Creating art using digital mediums (photoshop, illustrator, corel painter, etc).  The whole purpose of getting this big fancy MacBook Pro two years ago was for me to dive in head first into the world of graphic art & design.  While I have learned more in the apparent limitless world of Adobe, my biggest limitation is the current version of Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator I'm using, CS....that's it!!  No CSI, CS II, yep just plain old CS.  Not to mention the version of Illustrator is a basic trial version that includes no bells or whistles.  Perhaps Santa will bless me with a new version for Christmas this year??  Hmmmmmm.....

BlakRoc

Just got my hands on an advance copy of this album (snippets).  With guest appearances by Nicole Wray, Billy Danze (1 half of M.O.P.), RZA and Ludacris, The Black Crowes laid down some bluesy/funky/soulfulness that dares you NOT to nod your head!!  Add a splash of hip-hop and some nice R&B hooks, this compilation will subtly ooze cool from your speakerbox!

As always, I advise you all "getchusum" and enjoy!!!

I haven't watched The Cleveland Show, but I checked this clip and well.....HILARIOUS...go get it!!

Raheem DeVaughn "Bulletproof"

Raheem DeVaughn is an artist that I feel is overlooked.  In his new video, he channels a lil Marvin Gaye (think "Trouble Man", "Inner City Blues) and a lil Curtis Mayfield!  Featuring a nice verse from Ludacris; I think one of his better verses in a LOOOOONG time....but here's the vid....check it out!!!

I'd like to start a lil something new called "whutzreellyguud?!".  Basically, its anything found on the web that gives insight to good stuff that pertains to comics, art, good music and colture.  And...away we go!!

ghettoManga is a site run by Samax and is a haven for all things cool!  You're probably saying to yourself, "Kuntree, what makes ghettoManga so cool?"  Calm yourself reader, Samax has broken it down for you to understand, from his site:  "ghettoManga is all about comics, hipHop, news, art, and culture. in otherwords, anything i like or think is important can wind up within its pages. my intent is to comingle fans of hip hop, anime, comics, sports, movies, fine art, urban fashion and politics, etc... to promote my work, and the work of those i consider fresh."

I strongly suggest you frequent his site and while you're at it, put in an order for the newest release of GMQ (ghettoManga Quarterly), as I am sure it will not dissapoint!!  GETCHUSUM!!

I've had the honor and privelege of working with this awesome young lady!!  She did our (my wife and I) engagement photos in August of 2009.  Her lens work is top notch, and she is professional, to a "T".  Our photo session was on August 1st in the beautiful Half Moon Bay, California, and we had our pictures available August 3!!!  You do the math!!

Setting up to...

...consistently sketch, draw, doodle more often!!  Fortunately I've been able to put myself in a position to no longer commute to work and do some things from home...like draw and be creative...so like I said in my last post, I've been blowing the dust off some old drawings and sketchbooks and giving ye old scanner a workout.

 The pictures above only partially display how I felt commuting to and from Long Island everyday....No pencils, pens or Sharpies were harmed in the creative images shown above.  The same cannot be said for the work paper!

So, over the past couple of days now I've been going back and looking at some old drawings and doodles, since I've had the time.  I decided to post this pic that I drew for my sister a couple of years ago.  I enjoyed drawing this picture for my sister, as she too had 'locks during this time...anyway, I look forward to more drawings like this....

ALRIGHT!!! 

I've received numerous complaints from friends, family members, even foes (wonder what that was about) to update my artist blog.  So, to those who have made it their prime goal in 2009 to bombard my email, voice mail and FB message inbox and any other line of communication to get me back to grinding lead, wasting paper and creating funky AJC Ink drawings, paintings, etc.....

Stay tuned, and hopefully, there will be a new layout (in the works) coming soon....
